Gentle June

May has been a month of challenges and celebrations!

We had the joy of spending a week with the family on Skye, celebrating Kathryn’s 30th birthday and we had a fabulous time! I just love Scotland, and Skye is simply one of the most beautiful islands, lush and green with loads of towering trees and majestic mountains.

I had the pleasure of finally meeting the lovely Clare, owner of Cafe Cuil, a fabulous cafe in a beautiful setting. Clare attended one of my online fermenting workshops during Covid and we’ve been trying to meet up ever since! Cafe Cuil uses locally sourced ingredients and a fair few foraged ones to create their delicious menus. It’s no surprise it’s always busy, but believe me it’s worth the wait! Their new summer menu is fabulous, I had a butter bean and kale dish with nettle pesto and crispy potato scones! I do love a butter bean, packed with fibre and protein and so filling. Do check out our butter bean recipes over on the website!

On the challenging side FB decided to disable my personal account, denying me access to our Wellness Hub FB group and my public NbyN page with over 121 k followers!

Now if this had happened a year ago, I would have been in panic mode, but life is never without challenges, it’s how we navigate them that matters. Some things are outwith our control, so there is no point wasting energy worrying about them.

To be honest, I think we rely too much on social media, it has it’s place of course, but life is all about balance and we can easily waste hours scrolling through posts, comparing ourselves to other people, and feeling worse about ourselves. So much of what we see isn’t even real. Comparison is the thief of joy, we are all unique, we all have skills and value, and comparing ourselves to others is futile.

On a practical note, we are still trying various routes to get my account reinstated, if all fails then I will need to set up another group. If anyone knows of other platforms to host an online community then please do let me know. In the meantime, Sacha and May are both admins on the Wellness Hub FB group so the group still exists, I just can’t access it.

Onwards, we go- I decided this month is gentle June; making your favourite simple salads, enjoying the days as we find them, noticing the flowers, hearing the birds, doing our best and being grateful for what we have. Focusing on what we want more of attracts more of the good stuff, it’s the law of attraction!

On that positive note, I have manifested myself one of the best literary agents in the UK to help me bring my vision of a book into the world.

She actually contacted me while I was on Iona. I was just writing in my journal that if I was meant to write a book then a publisher would find me! How’s that for synchronicity!?

I was also contacted by Penguin/Random House about writing a health book!

So again I can’t stress enough that we can manifest what we want in our lives, so long as its aligned with our higher purpose.

Our beliefs create our reality so in the words of Monty Python Always look on the bright side of life! We will contact everyone as soon as we have resolved the FB situation.

Thanks as always for being here with me.

In good health,

Janice xx
